Grandma Ain't Dead Yet

This is my doll baby sister and my precious Grandma. My Grandma is young at heart and loves to shop. When I told her it was bad for her to go to the tanning bed she said, "Grandma ain't dead yet." Haha I love her. Anyway, she spoils me so much, I just wanted to share. Last time I went home she had gone to Macy's and bought me a bunch of outfits, picked them out completely on her own. I thought she did a good job with this sweater:

(Ignore the fact that I look like a huge waving nerd, I emailed her this picture so she could see me wearing it.)

Too early for Derby Day??

I love any special occasion that requires people to dress up or all come together to wear something similar. St. Patricks Day, I love that everyone is wearing green. Kentucky game days, I love the sea of BLUE. Random occasions when I get emails telling me to wear red for whatever Awareness, I'm on it. The Kentucky Derby is known for hats.
This year I am keeping my eye out for a fascinator a la Kate Middleton to wear to Derby!

Mouse House

Tonight I'm sitting on the couch, watching Castle when all of a sudden I see a MOUSE run across the living room. So, I do the obvious thing and scream at the top of my lungs. Joey was in the dining room and he saw it too. We spent the next 20 minutes trying to use a broom and a trash can to get the little guy out. Then Joey got mad at me because instead of doing my job I let the mouse run past me and just cried. (I told him that would happen).
The mouse disappeared, so now, I guess there is a mouse somewhere in our house. Even though I'm trying to convince myself it went in a vent that led outside.
To do list for tomorrow:
Buy mouse trap.
UGHHH.
By the way, the reason it came in was we stupidly left the window in the basement open that is on ground level and doesn't have a screen.

Ughhhh I am drinking a gigantic glass of wine right now so I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Talk of the Town

...
or maybe just the neighborhood.
My doll baby pups have had a confusing time lately. Yesterday I put Chauncey and Blue outside to play. Imagine me, walking past the kitchen window and I see:
Chauncey (This is his embarrassed face)

MOUNTING

Little Blue!!!
If you can call it that. More like crouching over her and humping her. (Did we just enter inappropriate territory for blog conversation?) Trust me when I say it was traumatic for all involved.
I gasped, ran outside and stopped it. Blue ran up to me and inside.
I think she was thinking, "Mom? Whats going on? Why was my brother doing that??"
Chauncey knew he was in trouble, he wouldn't even come up on the deck. I yelled for Joey and Joey went outside and spanked him and told him "Bad!"
I think Chauncey was thinking, "Mom?? I'm embarrassed. I know your mad at me but I didn't know I was doing anything wrong"
And I think he was crying. He doesn't like to get in trouble. Did I mention I was crying...hysterically. I was so sad thinking Blue was hurt and I hate for Chauncey to get in trouble. After Joey yelled at him he went and sat in the corner of the yard by himself. It was a sad sight.
Blue is fixed, so at least we don't have to worry about that.
Needless to say, we will be keeping an eye on those two until this is over.

Spring Wreath

This weekend I went home and my mom and I made a wreath for our front door. I had been wanting a wreath with yellow flowers for awhile now, but was not interested in spending a lot of money. We went to Hobby Lobby to pick out our flowers and berries. Luckily we went on a week when Floral was 1/2 off!
I think the wreath was only $4.99. We started by cutting stems off of the bouquet. Then we went in a circle and placed the stems into the wreath.
I think the stems would have stayed in place, but to be safe we went around with a hot glue gun and secured them.
We thought about cutting smaller pieces of the berries off and putting them all around the wreath, but decided it would look better to have them grouped together on one side.
Next, we glued the "L" onto the bottom of the wreath. I hope the glue will be enough to hold it, but I wish we had thought to buy some wire to secure it as well. The "L" was $3.99.
Finished product:
Yay! I love it and now my new hobby is wreath making. This was probably not a very good "how to" post...sorry about that! This cost about $15 total.

Who is excited for the Bachelor finale tonight?!

Urban & A.I.

Did you all know Urban Outfitters has a print shop? They are only about $15.
Some of my favorites:

P.S. We are watching American Idol right now, and again I just want to stress my unconditional love for Mr. Paul McDonald. I love his amazing clothes, those $3500 jackets are worth it. I love his ridiculous dance moves. I love his shining white teeth and how he resembles Bradley Cooper. I also love how Steven Tyler is definitely wearing women's clothing. Did anyone else notice the blue leopard print scarf? Really? He is amazing.

One last note about A.I. Can we all just agree to send this girl home. I can't take it. Blech.

Library

Joey decided to go to the library today. This was our conversation:

Him: I got a little adventurous with my book choice today.
Me: Oh yeah?
Him: You know how I only read novels?
Me: You mean because of that one time you read Twilight? And that is the only book you've ever read?
Him: ...Yes. I branched out into autobiographies today. I am going to read about Mark Twain.

This is why I love him.
Headed to Texas Roadhouse now.
Hope yall are having a great Tuesday!

Union

I wanted to share with you all the reading we had at our wedding. Our friend Catherine did a wonderful job reading it for us. We wanted something unique and realistic. I loved it!
The other pictures are of us reading our own vows to each other. We wrote them ourselves and it was my favorite thing about the whole day. Maybe I'll share those some other time ;)

Union
by Robert Fulghum

You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes, to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making commitments in an informal way. All of those conversations that were held in a car, or over a meal, or during long walks – all those conversations that began with, “When we’re married”, and continued with “I will” and “you will” and “we will” – all those late night talks that included “someday” and “somehow” and “maybe” – and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding.

The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “You know all those things that we’ve promised, and hoped, and dreamed – well, I meant it all, every word.”

Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another – acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, dancing partner, even teacher, for you have learned much from one another these past few years. Shortly you shall say a few words that will take you across a threshold of life, and things between you will never quite be the same.

For after today you shall say to the world –
This is my husband. This is my wife.

BFF

Chauncey and Blue are best friends. Blue is obsessed with Chauncey. Chauncey loves Blue, but he loves his momma more and wouldn't mind having her all to himself...but he is learning to share. The other day Chauncey and his momma (me) went on a walk. I wanted to give Chauncey some alone time. We when we were on the street behind us you could see through the yard and I said, "Look Chauncey, theres your sister." He couldn't have cared less...or maybe he didn't notice. I dropped him off and took Blue on a walk next. When I got to the same spot with Blue I stopped and pointed out Chauncey to her. She freaked out and started crying and literally dragged me all of the way home. She really cannot stand to be away from him. Presh.

The Scenic Route

Everyday I am thankful for a job with pretty drives. Even if it is a winding curvy road about 5 ft wide that would send me flying off a cliff with one wrong move ;) Imagine this in the summer!

I'm convinced Joey could go on Wheel of Fortune and win enough $ for me to live my life as a lady of leisure. Because we play along every night like we are 80...and I suck at it, but he is awesome.

ROOM.

Wiggle Room.
I just can't think that fast.
I might also sign him up for Jeopardy.

Tonight we went on a long walk & it was lovely.
Maybe the weatherman will be wrong about tomorrow and the rain will hold off for 75 and sunny.
Especially since I am taking a half day and will be off at 12. Holla!

Cats & American Idol

After Kentucky's win last night, let me share with you my excitement of last week.
Can you tell its Josh Harrellson? A coworker and I ran into him speaking at a school last week.
Go Big Blue!

In other news:
I am loving American Idol this season. Mainly because Steven Tyler is the.coolest.person.alive.
And I love J.Lo. Except I don't like her clothes. I think she dresses a little too young.
Did you all watch last night??? Paul McDonald was amazing. Really the only one who did well, in my opinion. Casey Abrams was good. But whew Paul. I voted over and over again.
I told Joey not to delete it so I could keep watching it. He is my new Lee Dewyze. When Lee sang "You're Still the One" I wouldn't delete it until after the finale. Obsessive much?

why i love my husband.

Joey was a little jealous of my long post dedicated to Catherine.
I promise I didn't make his short & sweet for lack of good things to brag about ;)
So..
Mush Alert:

10 Reasons I am Loving My Husband right.this.second.

1.
He always cleans the house & then if I don't immediately comment on how nice it looks he says something to bring it up.

2.
The other day I found a Target giftcard in the parking lot of DSW. I immediately called to find out how much it was worth ($15 Hayyy) and booked it on over to Target. When I called to tell Joey about my good fortune, there was a long pause and he said that maybe I should pay with cash so they couldn't trace the stolen giftcard back to my credit card. Really? Because that happens.

3.
He always spoons with my every night before we go to sleep, no matter what.

4.
When its cold he will get up and start my car or clean it off in the winter.

5.
He always cooks dinner for us.

6.
Every time he sees a Kroger he stops to see if they have my hummus.

7.
His potty mouth. Gosh how many F bombs are you going to drop over there watching American Idol??

8.
He has what I like to call his old black lady face. You don't know when its going to strike, but when it does I love it. He just did it without realizing it, thats what made me think of it.

9.
He does a devotional with me every night before we go to sleep.

10.
This doll baby face.
(Ignore me circa 2007 with my brunette phase...I just love this picture of him).

And one to grow on:
He text messages my mom.

Speaking of, it is my momma's birthday today.
Happy Birthday Mom!
