Kim is engaged! I am obsessed with her, haha.
Can't believe America sent my girl Haley home. Unless of course this is evidence that A.I. is rigged. Although then I don't understand why the producers would want to send her home. She has the best voice, the best stage presence, and was definitely the most entertaining. Scotty...ewww. Get your hands and stand up straight. Lauren...I like her, but I think the main reason I like her is because she was so cute in her audition...which, she has never lived up to since. She is so boring when she performs, she usually just stands there, or walks around. My mom keeps saying Haley seems like a bitch. Well, so does Kanye, but I still love all of his songs.
What did you all think?
I am always taking suggestions for good books to read.
I just finished this book by Wally Lamb:
My husband read it first and said it was the best book he had ever read, then he made my mom read it, so I decided to jump on the band wagon and read it too.
It took a little bit for me to get into it.
At the beginning it was hard to want to read it, because you aren't sure what you are waiting on happening. It is just a really good story of Dominick's life. But by the time you are about half way through it is a page turner. This book was one of those books you have in your head and think about all the time. I bet on "Decisive Moment" at the Derby because it reminded me of Dominick. I was sad when I finished it.
Yesterday I went to Target and bought:
Since the movie is about to come out (or maybe it already is?) I wanted to read the book first. Do you all get so much more excited to see a movie if you've already read the book? I do, but sometimes I get too excited and feel anxious during the movie because I'm worried someone is going to talk and ruin it. Obviously I have some issues.
Any book club suggestions??
Joey and I have something going on every.single.weekend until mid July. Between weddings, wedding showers, graduations, Bachelor/ette parties, and birthdays we are booked! This weekend was our annual Oaks dinner the night before the Derby, The Kentucky Derby, Mothers Day and my sister's birthday.
Friday night we had dinner with some friends, I wish I had taken pictures. It was the perfect Kentucky dinner of hot browns and Derby pie.
Saturday we got up early and headed to Keeneland for Derby.
Sadly, my picks did not win. Master of Hounds and Decisive Moment. If my husband had been
sober enough had remembered to bet, we would have made some $$$ because his favorite was Animal Kingdom. Darn!! I told him thats what he gets.
After Derby we came home, packed our bags and headed to my hometown for Mother's Day and my little sister's birthday. It was a long drive and really late, but it was worth it because my mom was so excited to see us. I had told her we wouldn't be there until lunch on Sunday, just in case we couldn't make it after Derby, so she was surprised.
Sunday morning we went to my Grandma's church. I love going with her because it is a sweet little country church, and somehow I always have people coming up to me acting just like I'm their own family and they know all my business. The service was about Heaven, and it was a great message.
After church everyone on my Dad's side of the family came to our house for lunch. It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time catching up with family.
We also celebrated my sister, Hallie's birthday. Poor thing always has to share her birthday with Mother's Day!
All in all, it was a great weekend! But I love my weeknights to relax and catch up ;)
Hope you all are having as pretty weather as I've got right now!!
I'm sure you all have some super creative ideas for this...
My best friend is getting married soon and we are trying to plan the best bachelorette party ever for her.
We are trying to think of ideas of fun outfits to dress up in and go out...we will be at the beach.
Our best idea right now is to all wear Tutus, but one of the girls going did already did that at her Bachelorette party so we would like something different. But that is the direction we are going.
Just for fun, here are pictures from my Bachelorette party, we had t-shirts made.
So, any ideas?
embarrassing normal as it is to admit this, my husband got himself a little spray tan yesterday. In his defense, it was free, and he thought if it looked terrible it would at least make a funny blog (for himself).
Please look at these pictures we took when he got home. He got so mad when I kissed his cheek because he thought it would make a white mark on his face. LOL.
Can I also complain about the fact that I also have a spray tan and I still look completely pale next to my Indian husband.
Hope you are having a good week!
This weekend we had a lot to celebrate. A friend's Graduation on Friday night and my best friend's Wedding shower on Saturday afternoon. After the shower we got Joey and her fiance and headed to downtown Lex. I spent Sunday updating myself on all things Royal Wedding...and pretending I was Kate Middleton.
