Deck: Before and After

Over Memorial Day weekend, Joey took on the task of redoing our deck.  We used Rust-Oleum Restore product from Lowes.  So far we have been really pleased with the results.  It did take him all weekend, so luckily it was a 3 day weekend.  The reviews said it was vital to really get it good and clean before starting, and the paint goes on very thick so it takes longer than if we were just staining it.  Our deck was really full of splinters and old boards, and now it is like brand new.  (He did replace two boards that were a little worse than the rest.)  The paint really does take away the splinters.  Only downside is that it does get extremely hot in the heat of the day, so we wear shoes if we're out there when its really hot.
Luckily, he had a handy little helper to get the deck good and clean before starting:
Old boards:
(In the middle picture you can see the two boards he replaced)
For the rails, we just used a matching stain.

After:

Looks like a brand new deck.  I'm so glad I have such a handy husband!
