Our ceiling is your floor

In approximately 7 hours I will have a new baby.  I should be sleeping, but I can't.  Today is his birthday and I'm so excited to meet him, and anxious for him to be here.
I just wanted to share the song we chose to have playing when he is born.  We have an entire sweet playlist, but this is the main song.
Just a few hours before we welcome him into our family...All I can think about is my sweet boy, in Heaven being pampered by the angels, ready to send him to me.
I don't know that that is really how it works, but it doesn't stop me from weeping at the thought.

Daughter by Sleeping at Last

If only you knew
The sunlight shines a little brighter,
The weight of the world's a little lighter,
The stars lean in a little closer
All because of you.

I want to see
You lift your chin a little higher,
Open your eyes a little wider,
Speak your mind a little louder,
'cause you are royalty.

This is your kingdom,
This is your crown,
This is your story.
This is your moment,
Don't look down...

You're ready, born ready.
And all you gotta do
Is put one foot in front of you.
Our ceiling is your floor,
And all you gotta do
Is put one foot in front of you,
If only you knew.

If only you knew
The forests grew a little greener,
The roots reach in a little deeper,
The birds all sing a little sweeter,
All to welcome you.

I want to see
Your happily ever after,
That you know in your heart that you matter,
That you are royalty.

This is your kingdom,
This is your crown,
This is your story.
This is your moment,
Don't look down.

You're ready, born ready.
And all you gotta do
Is put one foot in front of you.
Our ceiling is your floor,
And all you gotta do
Is put one foot in front of you.

You're ready, born ready.
And all you gotta do
Is put one foot in front of you.
Our ceiling is your floor,
And all you gotta do
Is put one foot in front of you
If only you knew.

This is your kingdom,
This is your crown,
This is your story.
This is your moment,
Don't look down.

BBL,
We are all so excited to meet you!

The past few days

I can't believe this is my vehicle. 3 car seats! We are ready for Baby!

We picked up Rhonda on Sunday from the airport and headed straight to Olive Garden!

When we got home we had cake and ice cream to celebrate Nana's birthday.

Now that Rhonda's here, we spent the week running little last minute errands I can't do alone. After a trip to Walmart she bought Major this giant ball that he insisted on holding in the car. Haha!

Last night Joey and I had our last date night before we become parents of THREE little boys! Red Lobster and then we went to the mall and spent too much money buying clothes for our kids ;)

#boymom

Two posts today, but I had a quick story about being a boy mom.
I'm constantly saying, "Why is this wet?" and "Where are your pants?"

So today.  Major likes to put toys in his crib and play.  Today Shep wants to get in with him.  I let them fill up the crib with toys and books and I'm sitting there with them.  They are really content and playing so nicely, I decide to go clean up the kitchen.  First mistake.  Never leave them alone.

I'm cleaning and listening to their hysterical giggles and it seems they've made up some game and they're taking turns.  What angels, I'm thinking.  I wish we had a video monitor, I'm thinking, because I would love to watch them play, but if I go back in there, their contentedness is immediately ruined with them deciding they need something from me.  I'm thinking how nice it is that they entertain each other so well, and I'm so glad they are both boys and close in age.  After about 10 minutes, I go back there to peek in at them and notice they are both butt naked.  I walk in and they are hysterically laughing, not out of their angelic sweetness, no, they are laughing because they've taken turns peeing all over the place.
UGH.  Mean mommy came out with that one.

Everyday 2016 :: 4

Well I've made it to the last day of this pregnancy of being home alone all day with two boys. I can do it! Just have to make it until about 6pm when Joey gets home from work and then I'm checking out from all parenting duties and sitting on the couch the rest of the weekend! ;) I'm so sore. My lower abdomen is so tender, it feels like my skin could rip open and he'll fall right out. Lovely visual for your Friday.
Rhonda booked her flight this morning and will be here Sunday afternoon. So as long as this baby stays put until then, we will be good!

A recap of the last week or so:

February 22:
Shep has been inspired by the YouTube videos he watches and loves having us film him talking all about his toys.

Baking. I figured raw batter would be a good way to go ;)

February 24:
Midwife appointment.

February 25:
Decided to go to Ikea when Joey got off work.

February 26:
Playing outside with their friends from upstairs.

Friday night is movie night! We rented The Good Dinosaur. Joey usually sets up the tent and gets out their sleeping bags.

February 27:
Major in time out. "Sorry. Sorry. Sorry."
He is so precious to me!

February 28:
My hipster boy.

February 29:
I've mentioned before Shepherd is OBSESSED with FaceTiming people. He calls Joey's Mema pretty much every morning and here he is showing her his Paw Patrol pup pad.

I cut them out of the picture, but the boys were sitting outside our door and having Popsicles with the kids from upstairs.

March 1:
My mom's birthday. Took this picture to send to her!

March 2:
Spent 2 hours at the park. Thank God for sunshine and warmer weather!

March 3:
After being outside with them forever I was worn out and so thankful we timed coming inside with Maya the Bee followed by Caillou ;)

38 Weeks with Baby #3

I had my last prenatal appointment this morning. It was short and sweet. She just took my blood pressure (good) and listened to the baby's heartbeat (136). We talked about how next Thursday will go and what to expect. They will call me on Wednesday to confirm everything, but I will need to get to the hospital at 6am, they'll get me set up in a room and prepped for surgery. I'll have to go back to the Operating Room alone to get the epidural and all that in place, then when they're ready to start they'll bring Joey in.  I'm already nervous about the IV. Needles really never bother me. I can have blood drawn and get shots no problem, but something about it being in my hand makes me want to pass out. I'm worried it's going to rip or something.

Sometimes I do ridiculous things, like find a man on the internet who runs a business out of his basement to get baby clothes monogrammed. That sounds worse than it actually was, but I was afraid to go alone so Joey went with me and I texted him it was safe once I was inside. Monograms must be a Southern thing. I asked one of my friends here if she knew anywhere to go and she thought I was talking about a mammogram. I really looked everywhere for someone to embroider some baby clothes and had no luck. This guy didn't normally do stuff like this, and I had to use Word on his computer to make the monogram. Not the cutest :( We'll see how it turns out.

You can kind of tell in these pictures, but my hair has decided to go ahead and start with the postpartum weird mini bangs that stick straight up in the air. Awesome.

The past week I've felt this super comfortable (sarcasm) feeling of my tailbone grinding. I'm wondering if that means the baby has dropped or something. Stuff like that makes me more confident a C-section is the better option.

This weekend is our last weekend as a family of four, and also to get stuff done! On our to do list...We plan on installing the car seat, which...pray for us. That means moving 3 car seats around. Joey is going to get his whooping cough vaccine. Everyone who is coming to stay with us is getting their whooping cough vaccine, but my mom acted like my dad needed some convincing so I sent him the saddest video I could find of a poor little infant struggling to catch her breath.
However when I talked to him he said he'd do anything for me, he was just giving my mom a hard time, haha.

Rhonda will be here on Sunday, so I'll thankfully have help next week and get a little rested before the baby!

What else? I'm sure I'll do another last pregnancy post next week before he gets here! Can. Not. Wait.
